Vladimir Putin! Yes folks, this evil, thuggish, misogynistic autocrat who it seems to takes great delight in killing civilians including babies, children and non-combatant women and men has won this year’s award hands down.
There is a long list of runner ups. It includes such delightful brutes as Isaias Afwerki of Ethiopia, Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela, Kim Jung Un of the Peoples Disneyland of North Korea, Xi Jinping of China, Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea, Recep Erdoğan of Turkey, Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Bashar Al-Assad of Syria (Putin’s best friend), Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan and on and on. Thuggery personified but jut one winner.
