Are You Who You Think You Are?
We all present different faces to different people. Which one is the real you?
Over the course of our lives, we change as we age. I have reached the age of 79 and I know I am not the same person I was at age 19. At 79, I have a gained a lifetime of experiences, some good and some bad and many creating change in the way I think and interact with people, both those I know and those I am meeting for the first time.
We all present different faces and personalities to the various people we meet on an ongoing basis, showing different sides of ourselves depending on the situation and the people we are interacting with. We might act differently at work than we do at home, with friends than we do with family, or with strangers than we do with those we know well. But which of these different versions of ourselves is the real us?
The answer to the question “Are You Who You Think You Are” is complex and multifaceted, as the idea of the “real you” is not a fixed, static concept. Rather, it is a dynamic and evolving construct that changes over time and across different contexts.
