Both My Credit Cards Got Scammed

And I’m a very cautious consumer.

In the last month, both my credit cards were scammed. One, a regular credit card I use for everyday purchases, and the other, a pre-paid card I use only for online purchases. The reason for the latter is I only put money on the card when I go online to make a purchase. The rest of the time, I keep a balance on the card of $5.00, give or take.

On credit card number one, I received an email from the bank advising me of a purchase for $135 from a company named Meeri Digital. I checked my files and could not find any purchase I had made to this company. I then Googled them and through a contact page asked who they were and what was the service they were providing me. I then contacted my credit card company and advised them the charge on my card was unauthorized.

I should point out, this company has a button ON THEIR WEBSITE that you can click to cancel your subscription - as if they are expecting fake orders to be cancelled.

I had a call back from the credit card bank a couple of hours later in which they advised they had cancelled the purchase and provided me with a credit. However, as a precaution, they cancelled my card and said a new card would arrive in the mail within 8 business days.
