Donald Trump. Putin’s 5th Column?
What is a 5th column? Read on.
The following description is from Wikipedia. “A fifth column is any group of people who undermine a larger group from within, usually in favor of an enemy group or nation. The activities of a fifth column can be overt or clandestine. Forces gathered in secret can mobilize openly to assist an external attack.”
I do not live in the USA (I like socialized medicine too much) and so have the advantage of looking from the outside in. Don’t get me wrong. Americans are fun, innovative, industrious, and good neighbors. However, there is a faction in the USA that seems uncomfortable with democracy and wants to make life uncomfortable for the majority who believe in democracy.
I call them right-wing-nuts.
And, Donald Trump recognized this faction in his run for the 2016 presidency. He played them like a cheap fiddle. He lied to them and used them, turning their own ignorance against them and created the Trump Cult. And, they don’t even know it! To quote Trump himself; very sad.
This group has unwittingly become a 5th column under Trump and his band of cohorts. People like Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, Roger Stone, Brian Kolfage, Michael Flynn, Paul Mannafort, Rick Gates, Michael Cohen, Joe diGenova. The list goes on and on. Literally, a band of…
