Or, Why I Still Can’t Find My Glasses: Adventures at 80!

I have recently turned 80. Officially, I have now entered my ninth decade of living on this planet.

Today, I find myself perched on the peak of octogenarian wisdom, surrounded by the wreckage of countless birthday cakes and candles and the echoes of “Happy Birthday” that have now become just plain annoying. Yes. I’ve hit the big Eight-O, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the roller coaster ride!

Firstly, let’s address the elephant in the room: memory loss. I used to have a mind like a steel trap, but now it’s more like a sieve with really big holes. Just the other day, I spent an hour looking for my “smart” phone”, only to realize it was in my back pocket. Don’t judge me; the struggle is real. According to the “net”, forgetfulness at 80 is not a sign of dementia or Alzheimers. It is just par for the course. Happens to all of us sooner or later. Phew!
