I began smoking at the age of 15. By age 25 I was two packs a day. At that time I decided to quit. Quiting was easy. Staying the course was hard. One morning, I was driving to work, lighting up my first smoke for the day and thought "what the hell am I doing?". I rolled down my window and tossed out my Ronson lighter and two and a half packs of cigarettes. By the next morning I was full on craving but, decided I had gone 1 day, surely I could do 2. By day 2, I thought I have done 2, maybe I can do 4. And, that is how I stopped. Just day by day and challenging myself. I have not smoked since that day.
