I Escaped Death

I had a heart attack and didn’t know it.

On October the 6th, I had open-heart surgery to replace five arteries on my heart that had a total of nine blockages. I have written two articles; one on the events leading up to the diagnosis and the second on the wait for surgery. I am working on Part 3, but that is a work in progress right now as I am still coming to terms with why I was felled by what I thought was a healthy heart.

This article is more to do with the struggle I have been having in sitting down with my laptop to put words on paper. It is a battle. The thoughts are there but the words won’t flow so you will forgive if this post is somewhat disjointed.

It seems I was a hair’s breadth from death. As mentioned I had a total of nine blockages in my heart arteries and I did not have a clue what was happening.

Arteriosclerosis is the hardening of arteries and mine was combined with blockages that had accumulated over the years. A deadly combination.

I have led a healthy life. I am around the correct weight for my height. I have weaknesses for certain foods that are not considered healthy as do most people and I must…
