I Have A Friend Who Stands Out From The Crowd
If you have a friend who is a good friend, tell them so.
Want to make a good, loyal friend’s day? Tell him or her they are a good friend and the reasons why. Don’t leave it for another day. Too often we have people close to us and supportive of us and we don't tell them how much we appreciate their friendship. Is it taking them for granted? Probably.
I have a number of friends, all of them good friends. At 77 years of age, I have sorted out the wheat from the chaff. Friendship-wise.
This one particular friend of mine is younger than me. We met through business when he became a client. He has a great sense of humor, has an interesting outlook on life, and most of all is non-judgemental. I really enjoy the company of people who do not judge others least of all people who claim to be friends but who have a habit of being critical.
So what is friendship? A common definition is; a friendship is a relationship that involves two very critical dimensions; voluntary participation and interdependence. It’s a complex process and experience to develop a friendship.
“Friendships require reciprocity — of admiration, respect, trust, and emotional and instrumental support,” according to Northern Illinois University psychologist and friendship expert Dr. Suzanne Degges-White.
