Do dreams come true? I hope so.

I had the most vivid dream the other night. I had written an article that took the world by storm. For the life of me, I cannot remember what I wrote but do remember that I was lauded everywhere I went.

I awoke with a feeling of exhilaration that soon deflated after I realized I had been dreaming. Was this a premonition? I hope so. Some dreams do come true, most don’t. Was it wishful thinking on my behalf?

Each night, before the sleep fairy arrives and I fall into slumber, I repeat a mantra I have developed for myself. I repeat: “I will remember my dreams when I wake up in the morning” and “My dreams will be lucid dreams.” I generally have on average, one lucid dream a month. When I do have one, I find it quite exhilarating and am always disappointed when I wake up, even if I wake myself up because the dream is unsettling.
