Overcoming Procrastination

You have no doubt heard the pun; “Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow.” Great advice if you are a serial procrastinator but not good if you are a cellar-dwelling “put off until tomorrower” attempting to break the habit.

I have suffered the procrastination malady for a good part of my life but over recent years have developed a few good tricks to get around my postponing ways.

Overcoming procrastination can be challenging if you let it. Implementing some effective strategies can help you get the “P” word off your back.

Here are some tips that helped me become a more productive person.

Break large tasks into small steps: Large tasks can feel overwhelming, leading to procrastination. Break them down into smaller, more manageable tasks. This makes them seem less daunting and allows you to focus on one step at a time, making progress more achievable.

Set specific and realistic goals: Set clear and achievable daily goals for yourself. Make sure your goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. This provides clarity and direction, helping you stay motivated and on track.
