Thanks Harry. I grew up with Maori and Samoan / New Zealand friends. Never gave skin colour a thought until my father forbade an older sister from dating a Samoan guy. It was around that time I discovered my father had a bias against people of colour. It was OK for his sons to hang out with non whites, but not his daughters. That being said, the N word was never part of New Zealand vernacular. apart from that ditty I mentioned, it was never used.
