Why do we continue to use the word “racism” to describe bigotry and intolerance against people with different skin color?

The very word “race” promotes the theory that a human being is of a different racial group due to the color of his or her skin even though it has been scientifically disproven. There is only one race of bi-pedal apes on the planet — the human race. There are no other races!

Every human on the planet has 99.9 percent of the same genetic makeup as every other human. This was determined with the decoding of the human genome in 2007 by a team led by Jonathan Rothberg who published James Watson’s entire genome, revealing the six-billion-nucleotide genome of a single individual for the first time.

If every human on the planet has 99.9% of the same genetic makeup, how can we be classified as races? Using the word “race” to describe humans with different skin color is a human construct and has no base in science. Why don’t we just call it what is? Hatred and bigotry based on skin color? Let's lose the word “race” as it applies to humans of different skin color. By keeping on using it, it perpetuates the erroneous idea the planet is populated by groups of humans…
