Water, Water But Not Everywhere It’s Most Needed

The average person in Canada uses 335 litres (88 US gallons) of water per day. The average European uses 170 litres (45 US gallons) of water per day. The average American uses over 100 US gallons (378 litres) of water per day with the average residence using over 100,000 gallons during a year.

No matter where we live, we all depend on water for toilet flushing, (for those fortunate enough to have one) drinking, cleaning, cooking, bathing, and laundry. Many people on this planet are ignorant of the fact that finite freshwater sources are under increasing pressure in almost every corner of the planet.

World Water Day is March 22nd. We all need to take this time to ponder on the miracle of water and how necessary it is to sustain life on Planet Earth.
