What is Truth?

What it is not the truth, is the opposite — a lie.

According to Encyclopedia Britannica: “Truth, in metaphysics and the philosophy of language, the property of sentences, assertions, beliefs, thoughts, or propositions that are said, in ordinary discourse, to agree with the facts or to state what is the case”. What are facts?

Facts can be construed as reality.

In reality, there are no variable facts, no alternative facts. You could say that facts are carved in stone. The moon revolving around the earth is a fact. The earth revolving around the sun is a fact. The speed of light is a constant 186,000 miles per second in a vacuum. Fact! President-Elect Joe Biden has to date received over 5 million more popular votes than Donald Trump. Another fact. He has also accumulated more electoral college votes than the 270 required. Another fact.

Mr. Trump and his enablers are spinning the tale there has been widespread voter fraud perpetrated on US voters. This is as far from a fact or from being factual as you can get. They are presenting their claim as a fact with no evidence least of all factual evidence to back up their claim. Has there been widespread voter fraud in the recent United States elections? Possible. Unlikely. Certainly not a fact. The reality to date is the Republicans have not been able to produce a modicum of evidence to support their…
