What Turns Reader’s Cranks?
Something to ponder on.
What subjects most get readers attention? Based on my limited research it seems to be sex! I have come to that conclusion after reviewing the stats on my articles posted over the last 6 months and SEX wins hands down. Perhaps many Medium readers enjoy being titillated.
I guess that is a natural thing as we are all sexual beings and for the most part were conceived by the sexual act. This does not apply to 100% of us due to the growing use of IVS; in vitro fertilization.
I suppose the fact we find sex so fascinating is a good thing as without that interest, we would have died out as a species a long time ago. But, I digress.
One of the articles I wrote entitled Older Men, Younger Women attracted 2,600 reads and a whole swag of comments, most of a positive nature and many not. It is interesting the number of readers who are of the opinion that a union of an older man and a younger woman is a perversion.
An another winning article was entitled Sex, Sex, Sex. This post pondered on the necessity of sex in keeping this human race going and in spite of some weird groups down through the ages attempting to impose celibacy or sexual abstention on their followers sexual intercourse is here to stay.
