Why Is Medium Restricting Input Just To Americans Writers?
Don't the rest of the world’s writers count?
I received an email from Medium the other day calling for input from writers. I thought: this is good — until I read on and discovered that to provide input, a writer had to be domiciled in the USA.
Unfortunately, I deleted the email after reading that as a non-USA resident, I could not contribute. I wish I had kept it to include in this post. Afterwards, I began wondering how many contributing writers are residents of countries other than the USA. Why are these contributors being denied the opportunity to provide input?
I think Medium provides a great opportunity for beginning writers to get started and for experienced writers to expand their horizons. But, as we live in a globalized world, it is my humble opinion that all writers who use Medium to get their opinions and stories out to the world should be invited to provide input.
