Why You Need Insurance

I spent fifteen years in the insurance industry; three years as an agent and twelve years owning my own agency. During those fifteen years, I learned a great deal about the psychology of the human race through the spectrum of insurance.

There are three types of people,in my humble opinion, when it comes to insurance.

  1. Those who understand that insurance is a necessary evil and can be a great tool in protecting families and businesses against disaster.
  2. Those who understand that insurance is a necessary evil but have to be convinced it is for them.
  3. Those who don’t understand insurance and don’t want it.

Insurance has been a round for a long time in many forms. The most common form of insurance is life insurance. When the person who is insured dies, his or her family or heirs or beneficiary receives a lump sum of money, the insured amount.

The first recorded issue of a life insurance policy goes back to around the period of BC 1792–1750 during the First Babylonian Empire. Parchment was discovered by archaeologists in the remains of the ancient city of Shush, Persia.
