Will What You Write Make A Difference In Someone’s Life?

I read this question in a writing article a few weeks ago and it stayed with me.

It began niggling at me a few days ago and the following is what flowed out of my jumbled mind onto paper — figuratively speaking.

Of all the people who have read what you have written so far, regardless of your age or theirs, do you think you have made a difference in the life of any one of them? It’s a rhetorical question by the way.

I hold the belief that everyone on this planet is here for a purpose. As I like to think the best of people, I like to think we are all here to do some good and make a difference in the lives of others. Others, unfortunately, less so. Many people choose the opposite route but this article is not about them. Many cruise through life without really getting involved. Many are born with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouth; they accumulate more wealth and eventually die, the richest person in the graveyard.

Many people seem to be here just for a great purpose whether they know it or not. I think people who want to write, who are driven to write and feel a great sense of personal satisfaction when they have completed a story…
