In my opinion, the answer is yes.

One of the biggest issues with social media is bullying. When I was a kid, bullies had to face their victims. Now it is possible for bullying cretins to hide behind the facade of social media. Bullies are cowards at the best of times but social media has really bought out the cowardice in these people. Whereas once bullying was confined to the schoolyard or the workplace, now, victims who have an online presence can be bullied 24 hours a day no matter where they are.

And it is very difficult to escape.

Then there are the pedophiles. These sick human beings have embraced social media and used it to lure thousands of young people into their sickly webs. According to the Child Rescue Coalition, “child predators not only use the Internet to distribute pornography, but also to stalk children, share info, and trade tips and techniques on how to seduce and lure them into sexual encounters.”

Would Donald J Trump have 55 million supporters if there were no Twitter? The answer to that question is a definite no! Would he have been able to spread his lies and deceit so wildly if there were no Twitter? Sure there is Fox “News”, but a very small percentage of viewers would have become Trump followers to the degree they became on Twitter.
